Tune up started with an idle issue
Last night, I changed the spark plugs, cabin filters, oil change and filter, diff. fluid change and tranny fluid. I will change the fuel filter next week sometime. I ran out of time.
She is running smoother, but this morning when I started her up, she idled at 2000 RPM for about 45 seconds and then dropped down to 600 RPM. It was very odd since in the past my cold starts never idled this loud. Any ideas why my car is acting that way?
hold on, did it jump between 600 and 2000 or did it just stay at 2000 and then finally after a while go back to 600? i would wait like 1 more day, give it a cold start and see if it does the same thing, if its gettin better or worse.. .etc etc

It started at 2000 RPMs and was way loud. It is strange since this never happened before. After 45 seconds, it dropped to about 600 RPMs. I was surprised. Could I have goofed up the spark plugs? I don't think I did.

This may seem like a stupid question... and maybe it has no relevance, but, is it cold in Washington now? My car tends to run at higher rpms in the colder seasons, though 2k is really high, but just a thought.
Oh, and curious question, the spark plugs that you put in, were they a third party brand or were they OEM types?

If it only happened once, and not since I wouldnt worry about it. If it happens every morning then do something about it. Other then that your idle air valve could of gotten jammed. Do what the others said, read out your fault codes then figure out the issue.

Umnitza now provides a mechanic to install all parts ordered right in the box! It's their new "Total customer service program" that will eliminate all the haters and keep incompetents from breaking **** and blaming the vendor! When you are all set simply call INS and they will pick him up free of charge.
This might or might not be relevant but did you match your spark plug #s? (old vs new) Bavauto lately is substituting platinums for OEMs. I had ordered Bosch OEM 4 electrodes & they sent 2 electrode platinums. I caught it prior to installing but have had friends tell me the same thing about Bavauto. Your "rev" at start up was one of the complaints I heard in conjuction with wrong/platinum plugs.
