Dinan like parts for a None-Dinan like price?

Curious to know if there's any companies out there that make good aftermarket stuff for my 540i other than Dinan. They make some great stuff but I can't justify paying 850 for an HFM, or 600 for a throttle body etc. etc. etc. I mean I could invest 3 grand to get 20 reliable hp from them and a nice badge..but thats half way to supercharging. Is there anywhere that has great performance stuff like this w/o to unneccisary price?

Hey There!

You might want to consider the wares from VF Engineering also. They're cutting edge, have proven technologies and have also been around for over ten (10) years. In addition to their supercharger know-how, they also design, manufacturer and market other hot performance goods, and even carry their own product warranties. Like Dinan, they do their homework and conduct extensive testing on everything they produce and sell. Prices are pretty competitive also. Check em' out and have fun! BEST

Tough call about other manufacturers. ACS, Dinan, VF engineering, AA are some that I can think of. It is expensive to mod a 5 series. I have picked up used M5 parts and replaced the stock 540i parts. Check out m5board.com in the for sale section.

I understand your hesitation to pay for Dinan, but they are reliable and have great customer support.

thanks for the help guys, i'll check out VF engineering some more. I didn't know they had much going for them, other then amazing superchargers. Its just hard comming from an E36 M3, where I could pull an M50 manifold and 540 hfm out of a junk yard for 250 bucks and get some software and gain 20 hp. Where as the 540 is more like 850 for 8 hp.
