^^^Nick is right about the sway bars making a bigger difference then the strut bars in my car. Although, the strut bar looks cool when you open the hood.
Agree on the coolness, seems like everyone has it, but I am more focused on performance than looks...although I will put one on later for sure.
I think the Eibach front sway will be just as difficult as the M5 sway. I started to take pics of the install, when my camera died and ran out of batteries. The rear sway is easy, jack up the car and remove 4 bolts and install the rear bar.
I will be willing to sell you mine if you want. I am not sure if you have the same size sway bars as the 540i with the sport suspension. Do some homework and find out if they will work on your car or just buy the aftermarket Eibach. I would sell them for $100 plus shipping.
I would be interested. Let me figure out if they will fit, however, which brand did you say you were willing to sell? I am trying to find the specs and such.

Ghost,
I had the stock 540i sport sway bars in my car. See what the dimensions of your 530 stock sway bars are. You are looking at the aftermarket Eibach sway bars. I am selling my stock 540i sway bars.

It might not make much difference at all. Best bet would be to pick up some used M5 sways. Look on m5board.com and post a WTB M5 sway bars. The front sucks to install. I am not sure if it is the same on your car since it is the 6 cylinder. You would need to do some research.
Hey dude, so the M5/540 front sway bars will not work on any other car. I was reading online and found out that the back sway bar will fit easily but the front is not possible b/c of the engine design difference between the v8/10 and inline 6. Sad

Yatti,
I was installing the sway bars. The strut tower brace are for looks and help with some stability, but the sways are much better.
Ghost,
Try and get a used M5 rear sway bar or buy one from the dealer. It can make a huge difference in decreasing the understeer.
Plus, I would buy a used M5 shifter. It will reduce the throw significantly in your fiver.
Go to m5board.com and list in the classified that you want the rear M5 sway bar and the m5 shifter. I did that and I got several responses. I wouldn't pay more than $20 plus shipping for the shifter (it is a great price considering the aftermarket SSK for the E39 are several hundred bucks). For the rear sway bar, I wouldn't pay more than $80 plus shipping and buy new bushings and brackets from the dealer or bavauto.com. Both of these installs will take you less than one hour.

Sweet, but I have a auto tranny.... not sure if that would help any, unless I got it all wrong (which is a possbility at this point). But the rear sway, yes, I am going to get one of those after I get all my brake pads changed. And thanks a ton for the info dude.
