Im sure the undersheilds need to be also M5, whcih means new mounting brackets. I dont know what year 5 you have but if the foglings are square, M5's are more oval, then you have to take into consideration of paint, bumper mounting points and if your 5 doesnt have the back door trim all the way around it wouldnt the back trim on the bumper look a little werid? Tell her your pay for an oil change or some service, much easyer for you.

I did the switch with my 540. I have a 2001. I purchased the bumper, new foglight assembly, the undershields, brackets. You are looking at the cost of parts, labor and paint. Ironically, I bought the ACS splitters another time, had to pay for parts, labor, and paint. Then, at a different time, I did the HID fog light conversion, parts, labor and paint. Rooz, if you do this, seriously talk, to your mom about the fog light conversion initially. If I had to do it again, to save money, do it all at the same time.
I will do that when you do the V8 conversion ANd I know it's not the M5 section, but guess what? SOmeone with an M5 wouldn't need to change anything, so more likely, someone with a regular E39 would know the answer to my question better And seriously, get the all "Atuo to manual stick you have stock up your rear end out of it, it's kind of getting boring "

I am wanting to do HID's on her head lights, BUT I hear that since she doesn't have the ellipsoids ones, most of the time the HID's will throw a "Lowbeam failure" on.... do you knowanything about this?

What year is her 540? Since my is a post 2000, I had to modify the brackets and the turn signals to have the umnitza headlight assembly fit. If she has a 97-00, it is a plug and play.
I don't have a low beam failure for my headlights because my car came with the factory xenon/Angel eye option. I do have the check fog lights warning because I have the HID fogs. I don't know about a fix for the fog light warning.
The HID conversion with parts and labor for the fogs, LED turn signals and headlights was about $1600. The parts from Umnitza were about $1050.
The low beam failure warning was addressed by someone on BMW-Forums I think.

She has a 97, and Ouri from Umnitza is a good friend, he gave me the heads up on the lowbeam failure, wanted to double check, but yeah, I presume it would be different since your car is prety much HID ready thx for your input though
