CD stacker AND aux input possible?
Hi bimmer fans
i have finally purchased a 5 series. The factory did an aux instal and said that if i did this i could not have the cd changer in the glovebox. Is there anyway around this?? I have the ipod hooked up but of course idrive wont get the ipod screen up for probably a couple years so it would be nice to have.
any way out??

Umnitza now provides a mechanic to install all parts ordered right in the box! It's their new "Total customer service program" that will eliminate all the haters and keep incompetents from breaking **** and blaming the vendor! When you are all set simply call INS and they will pick him up free of charge.

I don't think you can do that (easily--anythings possible with enough money) with the factory head unit. I know that SONY has some kind of source selector but I'm pretty sure that it's only compatible with other SONY products, imagine that.
if you aren't too picky on sound quality there are cd changers produced that transmit a signal to your radio via FM. of course the music will only be 'radio quality,' but since you aren't going to use it forever...maybe. I am personally very picky on my musics quality.
or maybe you can find some kind of adapter that adds an auxilary input to the CD changer input to allow you to keep the CD changer and have an auxilary unit hooked up also.

ya i've heard of that mod, where you have to have a burned cd with nothing on it but silence so that you could get the audio from the ipod to the head unit. maybe there is one that can be done without the cd and just trick it the same way but either way you wouldn't be able to use the cd changer at the same time. what i ended up doing is putting in a radio fm modulator but the sound isn't great quality, i could technically use the cd changer if i still had one though
