i blew a shock/spring
so now my cars gunna get have to be flatbeded home ( 110) miles. i hit a bumb coming into the parking lot and heard a loud pop. checked the engine, tires, and all the obvious ones i could think of. havnt driven the car in 2 weeks and went to drive it yesterday and i went like 50 feet and figured it out. the sleeve for the spring blew and now is rubbing on the tire. so my dads friend may tow it home so i dont have to replace it here.

That sucks man. Is it gonna be expensive to fix? how bad is the damage?

oops i meant to type shock no damage to the car other than the shock. luckly it went in the parking lot il do my own work. so the only real cost is the parts themselves.

That's not too bad. A replacement oem shock is around $100 isn't it? Still sucks though.

You should replace shocks in pairs.

nah dude, touring b/c why would you want sports on a 5 series, they are for comfort, b/c if you put sports on, you really not gonna have that much sporty feel b/c its a big car, and then your not gonna have comfort either, so you sacrifice 2 things

Sports. Having a 5er doesnt mean he has a friggin tank guys. I know it's heavier but there is no reaosn it cant handle well. Ive seen plenty of e28 and e34 race cars. Bilstein sports, I had em on my e34, they WERE great. I have em on my e36, they ARE great.

go with touring, even with tourning you will have good handling, and even better comfort.. but it really depends on what you want

i was thinking touring. cause it IS a 5er and though they can be very sporty. i dont drive like that anymore.
