need help with my 528i
hello out there ...i am new to this forum..need some help with my 2000, 528i...car idles rough on cold starts to the point where sometimes it stalls out.i have taken it to the dealer 3 times but with no luck. sick and tired of spending money...without fixing the problem..thanks |

Welcome to United Bimmer Does it only idle rough when it's cold out? What parts have been replaced at the dealership? Did they scan it for any codes?

yes it idles rough only when its cold..it seems fine after its warm ...they replaced spark plugs,changed a valve cover gasket that they said was leaking, performed a fuel alcohol level,i think they replace a solenoid..didnt say anything about codes...they are telling me its fine |

Take to a place that can scan the OBD system for codes. That will give you a better idea of what is wrong then what the dealer is telling you. Have you cleaned out the ICV (Idle Control Valve)? Cleaning it can make a big difference. Links to the Bentley and Haynes Manual are available in this section at the top.
