car won'tstart
My 1997 528i won't start. Prior to this event my tension pulley bearings wore out broke my serpentine belt. Ran hot! I replaced the tension pulley and belt. it would not start after repair. checked the fuel pump relay and pulled the fuel pump, both good. Checked all fuses and visual check of all sensor connectors and wiring for damage. anyone have any suggestions??? Signing out now. Working on car Tuesday morning, will be online 1st thing

How would resetting the EWS system help the car not starting?
the EWS is an ignition immobilizer device which has to be married to the key. if its ever tampered with it has to be reset in order for the car to start.
I'm aware of what the EWS system is, I just don't believe it was relevant to the OPs problem. He didn't offer any indication the system was tampered with.
