Speedo/Tacho lights not working

Hi, Guys I Have a 2002 E39 the problem I have is that the speedo/tach do not light up I have seen posts from other members & have removed the light cluster but found no light bulbs at the rear. The LCD part of the dash works & the dimmer does control the brightness any ideas?? Thanks in advance.
