Hello! Anybody with window/electrical control unit experience is welcome to chime in... (please!!!)
Anyway, just noticed this yesterday: when rolling up/down the rear windows on my '95 525i, they go up/down fine, but they no longer stop automatically once fully closed/open...
Before, you could hold the window switches (even once the windows reached open/close position), and the motors would stop (same with the "one touch" roll down feature). NOW, if you don't release the switch with perfect timing, the motor continues to crank the window, resulting in nasty "clunk, clunk, clunk, clunk..." until you release the switch (ps The "one touch" doesn't stop automatically, either - you have to tap the switch to stop the motors).
Any ideas? I was tinkering/pulling various components trying to eliminate possibilities with my A/C problem... and perhaps I did something I shouldn't have.
Of course, everything is reconnected now...
The fact that I had no problems before, and they both (rear only) suddenly simultaneously exhibit the same problem is suspect.
So - help, please! Should I disconnect the battery to reset the chassis control unit (I forget the name of it - three letters...)?
Thanks for your much needed help in advance!
