OK - I could REALLY use suggestions, here! :-)
My '95 e34 (525i) has an AC issue (I started another thread, but now I'm pretty sure that I need to locate the fuse(s) in order fix this).
SITREP: My AC works, but only on recirculate. Recirc will light up, and engage the AC compressor, and I've got cold air.
But the vent AC button ("snowflake") does not illuminate, nor does it engage the AC compressor.
I thought the switch was suspect - since recirc works, why shouldn't vent AC? that was my line of thinking...
But since then I've replaced the tri-switch (defrost, AC, recirc switch) as well as the external temp switch (which I figured wouldn't do anything...). Guess what? New switch (well, new to me - used) did not solve the problem - same results.
So (experts, enthusiasts speak up!) - are there different relays for recirc and vent AC? That would make sense, given that one works, and the other doesn't (obviously, since AC works in recirc mode, nothing is inherently wrong with the compressor, system, freon pressure, etc).
If anybody knows, PLEASE illuminate me as to where these AC relays are... DEFINITELY could use that info, plus other suggestions are welcome. I'll be holding my breath...
