2001 530 Reliability
 

I've read pretty good reviews about it on edmunds.com consumer reviews..

but is there anyone who personally owns this car and can speak for the pros/cons of this car?

reliability?
repair costs?


i already know that as a car--they say the E39 was a PERFECT machine--but what about as a car to own?

My mom is trying ot buy one. I think it's too practical and boring. Im young. She isnt. We've only heard good things about it. I think it's a great car to get, although I'm still weary about whether her BMW will become as notorious as mine when it comes to electronics.

The trannys start getting iffy around 80k. There not cheap to fix (like any BMW is) other then the general water pump, brakes, tires they really arnt bad cars. They do have some AC issues at times and some other interior cosmetic problems but nothing to expensive.
