intermittent fm stereo loss.....
ok guys i have an ongoing problem now for the last 24 months now and its really starting to bug me,
I'm driving a 530i 2001 rhd, my particular model has a digital sound processor and a built in television, all bmw factory additions. Any time i'm driving the car and listening to the radio either in fm or am stereo and when watching t.v while driving and i hit the slightest bump in the road i have a complete loss of sound, the screen stays on whether its in stereo mode or television mode, i have to turn the radio off an then wait until i hit another bump then turn it back on and it works again, ridiculous i know but this is what i have to do, this never happens when i am listening to a cd, i have disconnected all the wiring going into the amp/dsp in the trunk and reconnected them hoping that this would work but to no avail, any ideas would be welcomed i'm at my wits end.........:cry |
Well, watching the TV while driving most likely isn't the best idea. But what your describing may be a bad antenna lead/connection or an internal problem with the amp itself. Is there a relay to power up the amp in your application? That may be going bad if you do.
