my 525i m50 won't start

hello dudes!, i'm in dire need of advice regarding my '94 525i daily driver, it won't start and i am a little worried that i might have to do something drastic like pulling-down the engine. I am very unsure if it's the ignition, starter or other sensors related to this. I can hear the starter functioning like it has lost it's gears to crank the engine, i have replaced the crank sensor before, i really hope it's not very serious because i just spent money 2 weeks ago on a brand new auxillary fan, any info. that could lead me to the real problem will help. Thank you very much!

from what you're describing I'd start with the starter. If it isn't spinning the engine over the car will never start.

thanks man, i changed the bendix gear of the starter, at the same time i replaced all the spark plugs with the 4 tip special - car is running fine now, it jolted me a little when the trans program appeared on the computer but it disappeared completely, maybe a self check of the car but all is well
