What to look for - 2002 540i 6 Speed Sport
I am looking at a 2002 540i 6 speed that has 76,000 miles to purchase. Have been a fan of BMW for many years but until not in the position to own one. Is there anything I should know about this car prior to purchase? Is there areas that need attention? Are the miles too high?
Any comments and suggestions are very much appreciated.

buying 2002 540
the v8's in the 540 are unpredictable as far as mechanical issues. it's a crap shoot. the straight 6 in the 528 for example also has issues from time to time but not nearly as frequently as the 540's v8. check in consumer reports or some other outlet that will discuss reliabilty for this speceific year. good luck!!
