ABS, ECU? E39 540i
 

I have the E39 year 2000/02 540i 4.4L my 3 warning lights are on for the ABS and brakes. I see if the sensor is gone like right rear the dash should stop working or if the left rear the cruise control should stop. I think that's what I read on some forum. I did a scan and it came back bad sensor. How can I tract down the problem before spending money? Any help would be great. Thanks

I found out the rear sensor was bad the dash and cruse should only stop working if the unit fails not the sensors. it cost me $90. for a whole car scan I would say worth the money but i'm going to buy my own scanner soon.
