Thumbs down Help on mfg error codes

Does anyone know what manufacturer error codes, P0600 and P1747, mean?

I have a 1999 528i, E39/M52, auto trans, with about 110k miles. The trans recently went into limp mode. Had a transmission specialist (non-BMW) work on it. He found and fixed several mechanical problems. Now we are trying to solve computer issues.

Apparently computer connection to trans is intermittent. The service shop spent half a day checking wires, connectors, grounds, etc. without luck. Computer is now reporting two manufacturer codes and the service shop has no cross reference for them. He called the local BMW dealer and they just told him to bring the car in.

I'm trying to some background on this before I do that.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Problem solved

Hey all -- no need to reply. With some more digging, I found a link to some extensive lists of error codes. (My attempts to attach them here failed -- no idea why. )

Hi, does your list of codes tell you what 3 beeps in a row at random intervals means?
