oil/tire and other questions
Hi,
I'm the proud owner of a '92 525i touring.I have owned many 2002's and 3 series. This is my first 5'r.I am somewhat mechanicly inclined but I'm not sure where the oil filter housing is? I'm assuming it's the cylinder in the front standing up. Any thoughts on oil change tips? Any opinions about choice of filter? Fram,Bosch or Mann? Any opinions about oil I'm thinking of going to synthetic any expierience with Elf oils I have used Mobil 1 on my VW Passat for many years. I'm also thinking about upgrading my wheels next time around was interested in the plus1/plus 2 options. Not sure what is the correct procedure in determining what to do if anything? |
Hi, try rims-n-tires.com for plus size calculator.:drive2

*The small o-ring goes on the bottom tip of the filter housing bolt, the larger o-ring goes on the filter housing cap. You'll see them when you remove the filter. If you're anal about torque specs, both the filter cap bolt and the drain plug are 18ft-lb. |
welcome to ub
post some pics of your car, tourings are rare on this site :) |
Welcome! Tirerack is a great source for finding out about tires, they also have a very good staff that will be able to make sure you get all the required parts so your new rims would work on your ride. Might cost a little more but they have great service. I just got a set of winter tires/wheels from them for my Mazda on the internet and didn't order tire pressure sensors, they called me 20 minutes after I made the order to make sure I didn't make a mistake (i didn't) and I had wheels/tires the next day when i got home from work.
