Resonator delete
Well gang,
I am contemplating the resonator delete for my 540.
Here are my choices:
1. Resonator delete and replaced with 3" straigt piping
2. Resonator delete and replaced with super sprint straight pipe. This will cost $200 plus labor.
3. Resonator delete and replaced with a dynomax resonator (bullit muffler), $80 plus labor.
4. Resonator delete and replaced with magnaflow resonator, not sure of the cost.
In my research, I haven't found one system better than the other.
I would like to save weight and increase the sound when accelerating. I do not want a drone at stop lights, slow speeds or resonating at any speed.
Let me know what you guys think. FYI, I have a Remus exhaust currently.

i have magnaflow resonator and exhaust... no drone, just nice deep tone in certain revs. at WOT going by at 130, it sounds like demonic.
i wouldn't spend the money on SS straight pipe; any good shop should be able to bend a 2.75 pipe for you for A LOT LESS.
magnaflows range from $110 to $130 depending on tip. i highly recommend magnaflow as it doesn't drone due to how it's built... no chambers or something like that.

I was hoping that you would chime in. I realize where I have read your posts, bimmerforums. Always helpful.
Which resonator from magnaflow would you recommend and where can I buy it? I like the Remus exhaust and will stick to that currently.
In the next few weeks I will be installing the pre-vanos manifold and Dinan stage 5 chip. Should be exciting.
Any idea if someone has removed the existing 540/ M5 headers and had them altered at a header shop? I have an extra set of 540/M5 headers in my garage and am wondering what to do with them.
Umnitza now provides a mechanic to install all parts ordered right in the box! It's their new "Total customer service program" that will eliminate all the haters and keep incompetents from breaking **** and blaming the vendor! When you are all set simply call INS and they will pick him up free of charge.

if you're wondering what part # the magnaflow resonator is:

in the FAQ, there's Mike Toro you can contact and tell him Dan sent ya. he'll set you up with a good price. i bought exhausts for others near me and the resonator all at once like a mini-group buy.
oh, magnaflow exhaust only weighs 14 lbs. half of the stock exhaust weighs that much!
