Your Ride: 2002 540i
I'm having a recurring problem with my 2002 540i. It involves the car shutting off in traffic. When I approach a traffic light or stop sign, the car shuts off. I can restart it and move on. I have had the fuel pump and relay replaced, the ignition switch and ignition relay replaced, and the problem persists. Who else is having this problem? Can anyone help me resolve this problem? Wow! I have the same problem with my 2002 540i. Stalls at stop signs and traffic lights but only seems to happen when it is raining. Iam also looking for anyone out there that can help. Thanks.

Just got this resolved 2 weeks ago now. The technician kept my car for 2 days to track down the problem since it only happens intermittently. He found what he said was a loose connection (loose wire) to the DME. I haven't had this problem since. Good luck...
