Your Ride: 540
just a FYI,
the holes under the rear deck is 80.5mm; i measured it with a dial caliper just now and if you want to use that to port any sound, make sure it's 80mm or less.. but not much. you got 2 of them anyways.

You have three choices, stand behind our troops, grab a gun and toe the line with our troops, or stand in front of them, they can use the extra armor.
Glad to see you brought this over here to UB.c . . this subforum can sure use a boost
Front wheel bearings are another high wear item for E39's, and can deteriorate in as little as 60k miles. Diagnosed as a low rumbling sound with slight vibration or knockback on the brake pedal, particularly at slower coasting speeds. The same part number is used on all E39's except for the M5. Not too complicated of a task, and you can find a DIY at bmwtips.com.

Pixels die on our displays. BMWNA will pay half the cost at dealerships if you twist their arm enough.
As for the radiator, I bought the zionsville super duty cooling kit and haven't had a problem after replacing 3 radiators, two overflow tanks and a water pump, ugh.
Also, valve cover gaskets are a common leak item and the valley pan. You can find great diy on www.e38.org. That is my next items to replace.

If you want to free up more air flow, and you have a post-vanos 540 buy a 1997 540i intake manifold or a 1994-98 740i intake manifold. This works well if you have an engine modification chip. There is a rumor that the pre-vanos intake manifold is very similar in construction and engineering as the dinan intake manifold that sells for $1500 for the 540i.

Can the M5 front and rear sway bars fit a 540?
Yes they can, a diy is on www.e38.org. The rear is easy, 4 bolts. The front is a huge pain in the ass. The M5 and the 540 sway won't fit the six cylinders.

If you want to free up some exhaust note and weight, get rid of the resonator and replace it with a straight pipe. www.supersprint.com sells them for $200 or most exhaust shops can fabricate one for you.
