E12, E28, E34, E39, E60General discussion and technical help for all year 5 series cars.
Okay folks, the suspense is over . . just picked up the new ride, an '01 530i in Anthracite Metallic. 97k miles, but she feels and looks brand spankin' new, only one tiny ding and a small scratch on the nose. The leather and interior is immaculate, every single thing works. Even the notorious shitty cupholders are in perfect condition. Cold weather package, 5spd Steptronic (auto- blah), alarm/keyless entry, rear auto shade, DSP CD stereo, moonroof. It's gonna be a while before I can figure out all this stuff it has. What a difference from the old E36, but I still miss her sorely. Onto some pics . .
Love it, in fact, my dad just bought the exact same car. Same color, same headlights, same interior, different wheels is the only thing that I can spot.
Congrats!
Not that it'll break... but an E39 DIY section?

No Amanda, hopefully not too many E39 DIY's forthcoming Feels like it might need new brake pads soon tho. Other than that, the car is amazing, and was realy well cared for.
I haven't messed around with the tranny yet, but it has enough get up and go in normal mode IMO.
I don't plan on doing much at all with it, it's got more than I could ask for. Maybe the I.C.E. upgrade for the angel eyes, but other than that, can't think of anything. The stereo is more than adequate for me, but sooner or later I'll add the iPod interface from Bavarian Soundwerks. And maybe down the road, a set of Beyern wheels, but I don't mind the stock ones at all . . they're not my favorite style 5's, but they ain't ugly either
