ECU please?
 

Trying to find the ECU on my '91 525i. I'm thinking its located in the black container on the passengers side thats screwed down? I wanted to be sure before I unscrewed it because I have wires running through there to the battery and it makes it quite hard to reach. If one dropped it would take forever to get it out of the "pit" thats under it. Thanks guys.:worship

i think on pretty much all our cars, if you open the hood, right in front of the firewall on the passenger side(behind the diagnostics port if you are looking at the car from the back) there is a little compartment that is sealed, and the ECU is there. The ECU is usually a silver box, also accessible from the glovebox i think
