Creaking door
 

Does anyone have a creaking driver side door? Now that the weather is getting hot it is creaking....mainly when opening. It appears to be the flat bar that goes inside the door. I tried silicone, fluid film, even wd40. It is not the hinges. I have an E39 525i '01.

try a grease on the actual bar - there's also a bulletin out about the E34s' support (bar) that a weld on the inside can break & it needs to be re-welded by a body shop.

this happened on my brother's e46, he just sprayed a ton of wd40 on all the hinges and joints and it isnt doing it anymore

Thanks guys, I used multi purpose grease (wheel bearing grease) and the problem was cured.

And if you don't like the color of white grease on your pretty black car, use synthetic grease, most of the times it's black.

yea i actually had the same problem on my e36, and just a bit of castrol did the trick.

It automatically changes to that between 990 and 1000 posts, then it'll change to 'I live here'. But you can now change it to whatever you like on the User CP.
