Hey everyone,

this is my first time on the forum and i'm really glad to get help from you all.

i just got my first car this last weekend, 1993 525i E34 black on black.

i'm super happy with it.

one thing that his been boggling me was this 3 or S function on the shifter. i was reading about it in the manual and it says use it for "enthusiastic" driving. so what exactly does that mean and when should i use, if at all.

thanks in advance

here's a pic of her

i'll post some more later after i give her a bath.

The S is for sport shifting. Makes the auto shift up later while accelerating with moderate throttle (gas peddle position) and down a bit quicker when you open the throttle from steady speed

It's for fun sportier shifting and will likely cause gas milage to go down a bit
