Alright, been almost 2 weeks and I've finally got it moved, washed, and good pics taken. Here's the link to the album:
http://s44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...e/Bimmer/530i/

The engine is in need of more work than I initialy thought, however I may just do an engine & tranny swap (5 or 6spd) - still undecided. I'm unsure if I want to keep the original scheme, may go a different color on the outside, but keep the beigh/black interior.

Will have updates on the engine w/ pics as I tear into it and make decisions... never know, may need a port/polish and have the cylinders ground... at which point I may just beef the displacement a bit, larger cam, etc... do a performance upgrade all around and turbo/supercharge it. There's plenty of room in the engine bay. What's everyone's thoughts?

she is a beauty! please get rid of those ugly USDM bumpers and shave off the side markers too. So you can have that clean euro look.

personally, i would keep it as stock as possible. you aren't gonna find very many of those. i might restore it a little bit to get it looking like it was newer, but other than that consider yourself a BMW conservationist and keep it stock.

on classic BMWs such as his, I consider removng all the things the dragconian USDM laws forced foreign car makers to do, a proper restoration.

Actually, I was planning on making it as close to eurospec as possible. Since it's a '75 emissions and everything aren't needed, so I was going to get rid of the US bumpers, smog shit, etc... get the euro bumpers, rebuild the engine (maybe replace it), lots of fun.

Congratulations! Those are wonderful cars. My first BMW was a 1978 530i and after owning it, I have never been the same. I might get pummelled for saying this, but I think the seats were more comfortable than those in my '97 528i. I loved that car but my ex-wife wrecked it and it was never the same after that, so I let it go.

Unfortunately I don't think any car is the same after it's wrecked... you can almost feel its pain when you look at it afterwards.

I do have to agree though, the seats in that thing are SSSOOOO comfy, you almost melt into 'em. I can't wait to actually have it out on the road

I wouldn't mind that... thinking about doing a FI setup on it as well... so as long as I can find an engine @ a good price I'll go that route. Wasn't decided yet on WHICH engine I wasnted to do a swap with... but I know I want at least a 5spd in there... so it'll be an extensive swap.
