Your Ride: 2004 530i
What to do to make it mine....
Just bought a 2004 530i, and was wondering what you guys would recommend that I could do to "personalize" my car a little more, I always have to be unique.
I am not too worried about performance and speed, because I drive slow and not very far, but I really want it to look nice. So far all I've really come across are chrome grill replacements and new rims, spoilers, and a few possibilities for body kits.....is this about it?
Oh yea, its my first BMW, so I'll take all the advice I can get!
You may have to wait a little bit for accessories and enhancements since the E60 (and respectively, the E90) are still fairly new. What you've found already is probably what's out there at the moment. Not a huge market out there because most people lease these newer cars and don't wanna mess with them. But there's a handful of things at bavauto.com if you haven't been there yet.
Anyhow, welcome to the forum, let's see some pictures!
Welcome... re: personalization, that comes with time - get to know the car first - then make your own decisions as what it needs to fit your tastes. Some people improve the handling, some the ride, some the power & some just the looks. Don't forget to budget for maintenance - the longer you have it, the more you'll see things you want for it - so be patient, time's on your side.
+1 for the waiting, however theres a few simple things that in my mind are "must do's"
1. tint the windows
2. get rid of as much amber lenses as possible
3. take and dealer garbage off (lisence plate frames, stickers on the
back, etc.)
4. take off the 530i badge on the back (some people like to leave
them on but IMO all bimmers look better without them)
i think if you start with these simple things then it will stand out and just be slightly cleaner looking and different from the herd, then go from there
