unless you have prior experience with buffing out and repainting dents, its not gonna turn out that great, its one of those things you need practice with. The color might not match as well depending on oxidation of the paint
I've heard alot of good about the paint pens (haven't used one yet) but they're supposed to be better than the touch up bottle w/brush. As anything, it takes a little practice.

I used a paint pen on my old 325i (before the insurance adjuster took a look at it after the accident). After the paint dried, I gave the area's I touched up a coat of 3M wax. It did blend the new paint pen touchups a little bit with the surrounding areas.

I have the factory color pen from colorbrite (I think that's the name) and the touch up paint with brush from BMW. I guess I've been hesitant to use them thus far and was wondering how good either worked.

I also purchased a colorbrite pen for my dark green '96 ti.
The car has 150K now, and had a lot of rock chips in the hood/grille area.
I am a retired bodyman, and I used to take the paint from repair work done on vehicles in the shop, and brush touch as a part of detailing the car before delivering.
Everyone loved it.
You are not going to do a complete repair, but if you have a lighter color primer like my car, from 10 feet away, my car looks 100 % better after using the color pen. I also found the color to be spot (no pun intended) on.
Very happy witht he color pen, and as mentioned before, easier to use than a bottle of touchup and a brush.

Thank you very much for the reply. I will have to use my pen now.
