California Water Blade

Anybody ever use this? Saw one at the local Target and figured I'd research it a tad before purchasing.

Thoughts/Opinions?

For those of you unfamiliar, here is a link:

ya know, i have seen that too and recently have been thinking of getting one.

i figure, its easier than having tons of towels to dry off the bimmer after a wash, and it will work just like a wiper. . . so shouldnt be too bad.

never liked those because after a while they leave a slight residue on the car, so it's not as shiny as if you'd dry it with like a microfiber cloth or something...

Yeah i used to use them when i detailed at dealerships......IMO i thought they worked very well. I can understand what Rooz is saying because with your own car you want to take the time to make it perfect.

It works great though if you wannt to dry your car fast

So Rooz, what if you used a 2 to 1 ration? Dry with blade for two washings, then dry with chamois for one.

?

I always dry mine with the Microfiber cloth, and I used a particularly denser cloth for the window and another for the rims, and after all that I also use the compressor to blow off the water on the rims so that thre is no residue...

I mean, honestly, the cloths work the best, and as storamin exlpained it, after a few usage that thing start to leave a residue....

Yeah, we use those at our dealership.

We water blade the majority of the water off, then use a chamios to reduce water spots on the bimmers.

Works pretty good, but I heard that the guys who wash our cars said that it could have a possibility of scratching the cars if you aren't careful.

they can scratch the cars. if it picks up dirt it will keep pushing it along the paint. it always will put very small scratches because it collects microscobic particles and pulls them.
