What r u using to clean the engine?

To give the engines a better shiny. do u use gas oil or something special to make it locks better

wd40, or some armor-all.. all the same!!

Lay down some aluminum foil on parts that you won't want iol all over, then absolutely hose it down with WD40. I get a lot of dust settling around my house, and that stuff takes it right off.

hmmmm wd40 huh, do you use the whole car or something, ill have to give that a try

cruzin 323is 04-20-2005 08:32 PM

u don't have to saturate the whole thing is wd40... just put a layer!

bitcore 04-20-2005 10:32 PM

yep, the WD40 method.

Uh, Don't do your entire car, just the engine *BAY*... Grab a new can of it and empty the whole thing.

Although, if your engine ever catches on fire ANYWHERE in the bay, it will probably be a total bitch to put out.

I have never heard of this. You use wd40 to clean the engine bay???

woobiee 04-22-2005 06:03 PM

i usually clean it with a damp towel. (water) then to dress it up, i use wd40

Red_Rocket 04-25-2005 01:06 PM

If you go to like pep boys or some store, buy this engine cleaner called GUNK, works like a charm and can get off 17 year old grease, Trust me, did it last year when i replaced the belts and water pump.

get a degreaser and clean it up. then drive around the block a few times, spray the bay with armor all and let it heat up and it will shine nicely.

Oldskoolbeat 04-26-2005 09:01 AM

best thing you can do is get a degreaser but not a heavy duty one. Turn the car on for a minute or two and let it warm a little bit and turn it off. then make sure you cover the vitals (ecu, alternator, angel eyes, hid box, etc) with plastic grocery bags. spray it all over and let it sit for a minute. then take a hose with cool, slow running water and wash everything off. Take some wd40 and dont spray it, use a terry cloth and wipe it in so there isnt any clogs of residue. Another good tip is you can also use the degreaser to clean your plastic wheel wells. Leaves it like if you just got the car from the dealership.
