Help cleaning windows
 

Every time I wash my car when I'm done my windows look like crap.:angry They have little spots all over them. I've used some invisi glass by stoner and some rainex window cleaner stuff. Anyone have any tips for me or great products to reccomend?

dish soap. just make sure to dry them right away like the rest of the car, and they should be fine. mine turn out perfect everytime that way.

i just use the car shampoo that i wash the rest of my car with, the window cleaner stuff is just a scam.

I squeegee them immediately after rinsing, and before I wipe the rest of the car dry.

What about the inside of the windows?

Use anything WITHOUT ammonia in it if you have tinted windows. Ammonia destroys the tint and causes it to peal off, ruining it. I think older forumulas of windex had ammonia in it (the new ones don't). Just double check the ingredients before you apply, better safe than sorry. :thumbup

if you guys want a safe and "works on anything" product, go with the Miracle Cloth. My mom bought some for the kitchen and they "work on anything". She came out while I was drying my car and did my windows with it and they are crystal clear. I used it on my leather stearing wheel (which has 12 years of dirt and grime on it...) and it got that cleaner than when I bought the car. The Miracle Cloth is just a towel with microfibers in it that clean the crap out of things without scratching them. BavAuto sells it under the name "Micro Magic" and "Total Magic". It's flippin' sweet.

One of the best things possible to clean glass is:
1/4 cup rubbing alcohol + 1 1/2 cups water.

Mix it together, put it in a spray bottle, and get to work. Works for ALL glass surfaces. If you use a soft rag or baby diaper on your glass, you won't have the spots. Preferably, do it right after you give your car a bath, but that isn't really too critical.

Note: Try to avoid getting it on the paint as best you can.

OH! OH! OH! One more thing. . .
to lessen the amount of spots, make sure your car is not HOT! Whether it be from sun or use. Heat --> more spots!

As Amanda mention "micro fibre towels" work great. I've been using the "paper fibre towels" that high end detailers & optomitrists recommend. My glass is treated and not "filmed" and is extremely hard to keep spot free. This stuff comes in sheets or 250 ft rolls and you use it with a 5% mix of 91%rubbing alcohol & water.:shades

Can you use those microfiber towels to dry your car with, too??

Forget all that, use water and meguiar's window cloth

Plain old newspaper also works well for wiping the cleaner off.

Scored a good one for all of those who hate doing outside glass. Try some of the Liquid Gold Glass cleaner from Scotts. (Same people who make Liquid Gold for furniture - but their GLASS CLEANER) NOT from car wax company Liquid Gold, or Mequiars/Mothers whoever else uses that name.
One of our camera "ops" turned me onto it - they use it on their lenses and it doesn't collect dust or WATERSPOT. Tip from this same guy - use paper not sponge or cloth to apply & wipe off.
