just differentiate it. then substitue any x value to teh differentiated function

the differentiate function is the function to every possible tangent line of the function.

its not quite that simple, its got a slight trick to it, but once you get it, its very straightforward, can you come up w/an answer?

y=-2x+2 is the function for the tangen line a any point on the curve. now take a point that is on that curve(gonna make you solve that) and put that point into the differentiated function. I think that gives you the slope to the tangent line. from tehre just make an equation to the said line.

*shoot* i wrote the question wrong. i forgot to include the first part. these two lines must be simultaneously tangent both y = -x^2+2x-5 and y = x^2... that was actually a problem i did a long time ago i just found it really interesting.. and we def. hijacked the crap outta this thread
