Custom Privacy Panel For 1 10" Sub

Custom Made Privacy Panel To Hide A Subwoofer Box (One 10")
I designed it to use only one 10" Sub to preserve trunk space!

*FREE SHIPPING
*Free Shipping only applies to the East Coast States (EST)

I recently entered the car in a show by Outkast Kustoms. I was just about to be voted 3rd place. Then I started the stereo. Turns out the judges operate a stereo shop and have been trying to figure out how to get the kind of sound (bass response) from a BMW with the famous metal trunk. when they heard it they were amazed. One of them asked where is you box. Then I unveiled it all. They loved it. (OF COURSE, I COULDN'T GIVE THEM ANY SPEC ON SIZES AND CUTS, ECT.) They'll just have to figure that one out or i'll make it FOR them. Check out the car show photo below:

I have made a few of these for other people. If you want to get this setup let me know. I doesn't weight 50lbs all together. The box is made of .75 MDF board, it's a sealed box, has proper air space for one 10" sub of your choice. I took out the ski bag to allow the sound of the bass to come through. If you don't have the ski bag, follow these steps:
  1. Remove the back panel in the trunk.
  2. Pull down the leather covering behind the rear seat arm rest.
  3. Pull out the partially pre-cut piece where the ski bag would be if you had one.
  4. Use a hammer and hit the spot welded piece at the weld spots.
  5. Replace the panel you removed in the trunk.
Your sub will show through this hole but can be hidddn by putting the leather flap up using the stock velcro
The front of the sub box is covered. The rear is hidden by the privacy panel. If you would like the whole box covered additional charges would apply. State your color of interior leather with your request. I'll email you back before beginning the items to ensure your choices.

I have posted the price list below if you are interested, let me know. It sounds FANTASTIC and you won't loose but 8" in trunk depth. Thats 29.5" of space measuring from the panel to the lock catch. Not bad, especially when you hear the sound it produces. Again, the prices are below the Photos below:

I'll Ship the finished product to you FREE if you live on the East Coast Only (EST).

Sub Box $100 Includes:
  • Front (only) covered with your choice of color. (Leather Addl. Charge) Complete box covering add $20
  • 10: hole cutout.
  • Wire Connector

Custom Privacy Paney $60 Includes:
  • Your choice of material covering (Leather Addl. Charge) No covering -$15

Custom Stitching $50 AS SHOWN 540i
Addl. letters or numbers require addl. charge

***Leather is currently $.020 per square inch. This is my cost on 2006/07 price list. I don’t make anything on the material. This imported leather is a little high priced but it is to factory specs and quality. (I wouldn't do it for this type of job unless you are doing a show car)

If you would like to see more photos of my trunk panel email me.

Big Box: Question About Air Space

The box really isn't that big. It's longer (from left to rght) than it is deep (from front to back). It's only 7" deep. It doesn't even come past the rear of the factory speakers box above. I'll load my suit cases tomorrow and take a photo so you can see the amout of space left. There is still plenty of room left.

This photo is of the box without the panel hidding it:

For the one 10" sub I have (Fosgate Punch) i'm using .65 even though it calls for 1 cu ft. Tried both and the .65 works for me. I'm in to sound quality as well as base. I'll be changing my sub to an Eclipse or Kenwood. More likely the kenwood since I listen to Hip Hop as well as R&B and Jazz.

The leather flap diffuses and reduces the bass energy passing through the ski hole. I covered the hole with matching color cloth instead, works much better.

Yeah, that's true, it does muffle the sound just a bit. I only use the leather flap when i'm not driving the car or its just parked. A friend of mine came to visit and the first thing he said was: I see you got the sub installed. He said you can see if from HIS car when he drove up. Which means, so can everyone else. So the flap goes up when the car is parked.

It is a sweet install, very subtle until you turn up the bass .
