Exclamation New Head with a monitor...help!!!!

Hey guys i jsut bought a new Jensen VM9311, ita a cd player dvd, wma,mp3, with ipod ready adn xm ready....... i have one problem.. the speakers do not work. i took an extra speaker and connected it to the back of the unit and it worked fine with the new harness but than when i try to connect the speakers already monted in the car no sound comes out, it seems almost like theres something in the car that is stopping the wires from working except just a few hours ago they worked with the old unit. any help would be great. thanks.

This is Harry's old car, right? I would contact him about how he has the car wired.

If it's a stock setup using the factory amp, try this:

Connect each of the radio's speaker (+) wires to the appropriate wire on the car's harness.

Connect each (-) wire from the car's harness to the chassis of the radio, not to the radio's (-) speaker wires.

Leave the radio's (-) speaker wires disconnected and insulated.

^^^This is how you normally have to wire head units that are high power with floating ground, if you're using the stock BMW amp.

^^^ yeah when I put in my alpine I couldn't get the speakers to play through the stock amp so I called alpine and the wiring was *slightly* different than the way it went in the harness. (I think I had the connect the LIGHT blue wire with the blue wire instead of the blue wire with the blue wire) Call the company that makes it and get tech. help. tell them its for a BMW and they should have answers
