Older Planet Audio Subs
What up people. I have two older (maybe 1999 or 2000 model) Planet Audio 12 inch subs. They're SVC, single stacked magnet (I'll post pics in a minute...
I need to know what model they are. There are no model number or anything on them. Need this info to do some research on the proper power to give them.
I called Planet audio tech support and they basically dont know. A**holes! And all the research I do on Google or whatever only comes up with the newer models.
I had these installed a few years ago and they were very clean woofers. I wanna say they cost me like $250.00 each.
See pics and let me know if you know anythign about these.
Thanks!

Umnitza now provides a mechanic to install all parts ordered right in the box! It's their new "Total customer service program" that will eliminate all the haters and keep incompetents from breaking **** and blaming the vendor! When you are all set simply call INS and they will pick him up free of charge.
In all honesty, it's fairly hard to blow a sub by giving it TOO much power.
Speakers/subs blow up for the following reasons...
1) LACK of power
2) ABUSE
3) Dirty power (ac/dc mix up typically)
Honestly, turn your amp, down, and try it, then raise the gain and see how the subs take it. You'll start noticing it if the subs are getting too much power

Rooz,
Thanks man. I know basic amplification principles. My best friend is MECP certified and runs his own Sound and Security business. He hasnt been able to find these anywhere either.
I know I can do what you said, but I'd like to run them 2 ohms mono if I can, and I dont know the impedance of the coils.
I know my PC2150 can take a 2 ohm mono load, but I dont even know if these are 4 ohm drivers.
I'll just try it and if the amp's overheating, then I'll run them 4 ohms stereo and turn the gain down.
Thanks for your help man.

*cough cough* My installer is a MECP MASTER installer *cough cough*
But honestly, I "THINK" you should be able to get a voltmeter and see what load the subs have...
