music in teh bimmer
need a new stereo system in car... has original and it doesnt really do the job anymore (cracks at high speeds.. its a bmw, we're always at high speeds)
just looking to get some nice sound.. id like to keep the oem look.. but my current head unit is kind of old.. i "could" get a really NICE system.. but us ea bmw header.. but id rathe rjust leave it stock.. i dont need "kill the person nextto yous ear drums" music.. just "sound good /w good bass while driving at 90 with the sun roof/indows open. eh.

Get an aftermarket headunit, they put out more power to your speakers, when I got mine, it made my stock speakers sound so much better. If you don't want to spend too much, but want decent sound I would get something like an alpine headunit, and some pioneer speakers, if your speakers are pretty much blown.

well I mean it depends how good you want your speakers to be. I mean with ones that aren't that expensive there is no point in having a separate amp going to your speakers, the ones built into aftermarket headunits are good enough.

this will sound stupid.. but how many speakers are in my car? 320i bmw stock.. are there.. two tweeters i ndash.. two in front (in front of seats) and two in the back aiming up from trunk? generic placement, right?
cuz i think im going to replace all 6.. so gonna try to find a deal for under 200 bucks for a new head/new speakers. i know it sounds cheap but im tired of the crackle crackle crackle .. but im planning on road tripping to a direngrey concert for my gf in wisconsin aug 26th.. thats 400 miles.. need stereo!

you don't care about adjustability right? I mean just bass, treble, fade, and balance between the speakers? I am not sure how many speakers your car has, i'll have to look online later man, im going out now, or I would check.

yeah looks like there are 6 speakers. To look for what speakers fit your car, I would try crutchfield.com, but then once you find the model name and # from them, usually somewhere else is cheaper.
