Maybe in the dash above the radio. I noticed a few of the cars we have has some space there. Also maybe above the steering column

Maybe in the trunk, right where the rear stereo speakers are - or where the spare tire is...

under the seats, actually what i would do is i would look in the car for wiring that doesnt look like its stock, or if its nto wired to the car and uses batteries, i would guess somewhere in the interior compartment, or the trunk, b/c the GPS they used probably isnt weather proof,a nd if it is put outside the car, then go take a carwash

Did his parents just happen to know where he was & when? LOL There are a couple of companies that sell units like "tattletale" and a couple of others that they place a small unit either under the seats or under the dash. They're a tracking/recording device that parents can monitor and track their kids actions - like how fast the car has gotten up to, or where it was at certain times & dates. I'd check the cars' fuse box and look for newly added wiring and trace it back from there.

Look for an aerial somewhere. A GPS needs to get at least 3 satellites to gain a location on the Earth and a 4th to calculate altitude.

Or maybe, someone just saw him doing whatever he wasn't meant to be (more likely)

Thanks guys! Ya were pretty convinced his parents put a gps in because we were going to the movies and as soon as we went somewhere else besides the movies his parents sent him a text asking what movie, where its at and told him to bring his ticket stub home and than when he got home his parents interogated him about the movie.

Have they bought you a new phone?

Here is a website with a good link regarding how GPS actually works.

www.rakon.com

Used to work there.
