Rewire antenna?

My factory antenna has been shit since I bought my e36 in 2003. I am in the process of re-vamping my audio setup, going to all pioneer equipment, bypassing the amplifier for my 5 1/4 front speakers and my 6x9 rears, removing an old changer that sucks ass, and keeping my existing basslink sub.

I noticed, while I had the car apart, that my antenna connector seems mighty screwed up. Its loose, and if I manipulate it, I can get the stations that I have been missing all these years. The problem is, I cant get it to stay in the right position to get the best reception. Is there a way to put a new end on the antenna where it meets the head unit? Anyone ever do it?

I am mainly missing out on AM stations that have some of the best sports talk in the philly area, so if this cant be done, its not like I am missing anything great, just something I would like to be able to listen to if I felt like it.

Thanks in advance.

Bill

all you need is an antenna adapter, I'll look in our books (since I work at Tweeter) and let you know tomorrow. I want to say the model number is VW08....

If you have an aftermarket head unit, you won't need the adapter, just this:

thanks Rooz, but I dont need an adapter. I have adapters. I need to replace the factory end that plugs into the adapter. The reason I need to do this is because it is loose for some reason and is seriously hampering my reception on the upper FM band as well as the lower AM band.

dudesky - how do you use that thing?

Just cut the factory plug off, and replace it with the Motorola plug. Then you won't need the adapters at all. When you buy it, you'll figure it out- very easy.
