radar detector

well guys, i have the extra $$ to buy a passport 8500 X50 radar detector. I know i prob should get one because i like to push the car not to mention being a 21 year old guy in a black BMW M3 (a cops wet dream ) but at the same time im worried that when i get one ill get a false sense of security and get raped by a laser or somethin like that..... so anyone with a nice radar detector (or not) let me know what u think. i think that since im aware of the danger i should b ok but im just a little apprehensive. HELP!

+1 Also if you get stopped your chances of getting off with a warning vaporize when a cop sees a detector (that was your warning) Save your $$ for mods or track time.

z1 integrates into your car, you put sensors in the front and rear bumper.

THe SR3 is laser protection, first time you get hit it shifts the signal and tells you someone tried to hit you with laser, second time it lets the laser hit you, but by then you'r doing speed limit

Well damm. Would the SR3 work with the BEL Pro RX65?

I agree with what you are saying....

but you didn't tell him the PRICE tag. The Escort SR7 goes for $1100.

ZR3 is $500.

Yes, I would rather have one of those than my X50 Blue.

I tried to get the SR7 off a e46 M3 Convertible trade in....but the customer wanted the radar detector too. Bummer.

But IMO, it would be

1. SR7
2. ZR3
3. Valentine One
4. Escort Passport X50

dont have a detector, and have not once even been pulled over. just learn to be smart. and spend your hundreds on something more enjoyable, like suspension or exhaust or something.

Last I checked we sell the SR7 for $800 and the ZR3 for $300. And hope you know that you can get the ZR3 on your X50
