Custom box & New Gear

I am going to go ahead and do something a little better in my trunk.

A) Either going to go with a 10w7 running of a JL 500/1 in a custom ported enclosure

This is a VERY rough sketch!

The port would be in the middle vertically probably, and the BMW logo would be on acrylic, everywhere that is kind of beige/gray would be glazed acrylic, the white parts would be clear and I'll probably have like a blue neon in the back

OR

B) Do 2 10w6's running of a 500/1 in a custom ported or sealed enclosure...

Again, this is a VERY rough sketch!

Mine would be two ten, and not sure what color scheme I would do eith the all black and gray on this one, but you get the general idea...

Same story as the other one, IF I do ported, the port would be in the middle horizontal on this one probably, and the BMW logo would be on acrylic, everywhere that is kind of beige/gray would be glazed acrylic, the white parts would be clear and I'll probably have like a blue neon in the back

Only reason why you only see E46 pics is because these were pictures I took from our picture book at work and choped them up

Opinions and constructive criticism most welcomed!

So you want a preformance car with the extra weight? And also weren't you going to sell your car.

I think i'm done giving you shit.

Wait one more, its an auto too right?

But seriously I like the second option

It's to replace what I aleady have and this setup will roll over to the new car and what I have now Iwll go back in for the buyer.

And I sell this stuff, one of the reasons why I want this is so that when customers ask me, so what do you have... I can just show them that

Not too sure if you can get ahold of "El Presidente." He used to frequent bmw forums and bimmerforums back a year or more ago. He was into car audio stuff. He built mine, as well as many other boxes. He could give you some tips if you can get ahold of him. I havn't talked to him in a while. Ever since he moved, I don't think he has been crusing the net much.

Here's mine before it went in the trunk. You pretty much know your shit, Rooz, so there's not much I can say that you don't already know. Except note how I angled the back wall opposite the driver. That would be my only advice- don't make a perfect rectangular box, so you avoid standing waves inside

Ended up going the more expensive route....

I placed an order for an Audison VRX 1500 along with the fans, cover and subsonic filter (since the box is ported

And a focal 33KX

This all setup is a LOT more expensive than what I had in mind from the start, but... it's humm.... silly how good it will sound. Let me just put it this way these amps will straight up look at ANY JL amp out there and laugh at them.... The sub amp for instance will put out 2000 watts to the sub. And this is real wattage, not something that says 2000 watts on it. I am not sure when I'll get them in, but I placed the order

And I also went ahead and bought my speaker amp Audison VRX 2400

Retail the amps are about $1700-$1800 each and the sub is at $950

It's going to be a few weeks before I see the sub amp, the speaker amp will stay in the box until the new car gets here then I'll buy the matching speakers for that sub....
