Got a sweet deal
In my quest to add a little bass to the new 330 I've looked into a couple options. Just so you know, I didn't want anything too excessive like the system I used to have (JL 15" sub w/ a Precision Power A-600 bridged pushing 1200 watts into the 15), so I was looking for something cheap and easy to install myself. I also know that if I put in an amp w/ a separate sub, it would be a bitch of an install b/c I'd have to run the RCA's back from the head unit. So I have decided to find something with a built in amp and speaker line inputs. I researched bazooka tubes and what not and then I browsed around craigslist and founf a great deal.
I found someone selling a Infinity Basslink T which is a 10" sub box with 2 10" passive radiatiors with a built in 250 watt amp. The box retails for $499 and the kid had it for only 6 months and was willing to get rid of it at half price. Here's what it looks like: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-BzEzEYK...inity+basslink.
So as it turned out, the kid was looking for a satellite radio receiver and coincidentally I was looking to get rid of mine b/c I just got a Sirius receiver. So I told him I'd give him my XM as well as some cash. He came back and said he'd take the XM and $100. So I looked into it an found out I had to buy the wiring kit for $25 so I counter-offered him $75 + the XM and he agreed. The dumb shit didn't realize that XM is giving away those receivers now for free with a subscription purchase. So in the end, I got a $500 piece of equipment for only $75
I already got it and plan on installing it within a week or so.

I was going to get infinity speakers, because some of my speakers are now blown haha. Those bass links seem to be decent, haven't heard one though, but for $75 I wouldn't complain.

well Infinity has some good quality speakers, I don't know about their amps, or anything. For what I have, I have an alpine headunit and am probably getting inifinity speakers in 2 - 3 weeks. Alpine is good for the money.
How would u rate the quality of infitity? Im a personal fan of Alpine but i knows theres better out there for the same money.
Harman Kardon is the parent company of Infinity, along with JBL, Pyle, Becker, Mark Levinson, and others. I think it's about the same as Alpine, whose main gig isn't even audio . . Alpine is actually more in the satellite communication industry, as well as other equipment for military applications.
Envy- what an awesome steal . . that poor kid. And I think that unit will just make it from side to side in the trunk, right?

The box is actually less than 7" thick so it will fit mounted to the top of the inside of the trunk (from side to side). Not the trunk lid itself but the space in front if it. That way it won't take up any of the cargo space and I can still fold down the seats as well as access the spare tire if needed. I'm going to throw down a piece of dynomat between the box and the metal to eliminate any rattles or vibration. I know this isn't the best system out there, but I just wanted to add a little bass to my music and I couldn't beat the price for this thing.
Umnitza now provides a mechanic to install all parts ordered right in the box! No I did not. I just got that car and didn't know about an amp in the trunk. I don't have the HK system but I was told that the speaks were amplified but I didn't know where the amp was located. I figured it was under the seat. Do you know how many watts the factory amp puts out?

Thanks Rooz. Have you ever hear the Basslink in action before? Also since you're involved a lot w/ car audio, (not sure if you do install but) do you know how easy it is to access the rear speaks in an e46 to pull off the speaker line inputs into the sub?

Ok, you can get full range signal from the factory amp, and if you'r putting a sub and amp, on our cars, you can do everything without running anything to the front...
