Adding some electronics

Thx to my new job and my discounts, I am adding some gadgets to the car soon:

Sound:

JL XR525CSI - Front Speakers (Not 100% sure if am going with JL on these if not I'll go with either Boston or Focal)

The Infamous JL 300/4

Of course JL 4 gage wires for power...

And RCA's

Now here is the better crap...

Some of you might remember that I had mentioned I was looking for a portable GPS system...

I present to you the Clarion N.I.C.E

Quote:
It stands for Navigation In-Car Entertainment, but take it for a spin and you’ll see why the acronym is so fitting … N.I.C.E. This vehicle-to-vehicle solution comes with mapping software covering the entire continental U.S., a built-in GPS antenna, turn-by-turn voice prompts, easy route selection, an address book, two million Points of Interest, automatic rerouting, and much more. For entertainment, N.I.C.E. offers audio/video inputs, Sirius Satellite Radio capability, and stores MP3, WMA, and WAV files, as well as personal photos. Best of all, N.I.C.E. wirelessly interfaces with an existing sound system, and only requires an easy-to-use window mount for installation. Part tour guide, part personal entertainer … N.I.C.E.

After I get the amp and speakers I'll get this (probably around Mid december)

Later on I will swap my Current box with a JL box (made for 10w1v2's). JL Boxes are the best ones in the market it will let my subs hit a LOT harder.... I am still debating on this, I will either do this box or a custom box...

And wahtever Box I decide upon, I will replace my P2's with 2 JL 10W1v2's

And Of course will all this ice I will upgrade to a Clarion SR6000 2-Way Security System with Remote Start Engine (Same people that make the Viper alarms, this one comes with 2 remotes and I get bigger discount on it)

After ALL that crap I will pretty much be done with the Sound and ICE part of my car.... the speaker and amp are coming ASAP, the GPS whenever my mom wants to get it (Reason why I need a portable one is because we will share it, I'll pay half of it and use in on a daily basis, he car is out "trip" car, so when we go out of town, just take it from my car to hers)

And new subs and box will come when my friend saves up some money to buy my current setup. New alarm will go on AFTER all these gadgets...

Very cool. How does that alarm system compare to the Viper alarm?

Any chance of you hooking me up with any discounts?

Rooz!

I have Bostons in mine, but I think these days JL is making a better product than them . . my $.02. The 4 gauge power is good call for future system expansion. I assume that's why you chose it, as it's definitely overkill for the 300/4

It's the same exact alarm, they are made by the same exact people, except this on comes with 2 remotes instead of 1

Well, true, JL is making a better product, but Boston & Focal would last loner...

Either go with those Jl speakers or some Focal ones (130KF) or some boston acoustik ones SL series I think

No, best speakers are Focal, am probably going to end up getting the Focals just because they are soooo amazing.....

That portable GPS, go to CLARION's website and look up GPS.... We will have to special order a mount for it for my car, for now, am thinking it will go between where head unit is and glovebox, but I might let our installer get custom on it, who knows.

Focals are the best BRAND name speakers. I am pretty confident that there is someone else out there that will have something better. If you go to an audio enthusiasts forum, I'm sure they have all kinds of brands to look at.

for example, many people love Alpine, Kicker, Infinity subs and what not, but many don't know about companies like Brahma or Elemental Design, that make a killer sub.

Ok, little update

Yesterday my installer and I talked about my system, he's wanting to put Focal speakers all around running on Audison amps and build a custom trunk weld box to house 3 JL 8W7's :drool that would be an awsomely clean soudning system with enought junk in the trunk to make fart cans fall from ricers
