AVIC-N2 Navigation DVD

Quick question, I did a bit of Googleing and can't find an answer. To calculate a route with the GPS navigation of the Pioneer AVIC-N2 headunit, I have to insert my Navi DVD everytime... is there any way to program it to auto-route based on the map information it has in memory already? Basically is there anyway to enter a new destination without putting in the navigation dvd?

Thanks.

I found this....

I dont get how you can use the voice recognition to find a new address. I HAVE that kit installed already. Pioneer did a bad job on Address searches, Like you HAVe to know exactly the Street direction is (S or West etc) , otherwise it won't come up. Especially when users have to find an intersection. I dont know who the Avic cant determine the Direction combinations on its own

for example S flower street intersects with W 3rd Street. If you dont know the Directions, you have to Try ALL N flower, E 3rd and all the combos. The streets wouldnt intersect twice. never, the unit doesnt even determine that on its own

that is why searching for addresses takes so long and gets dangerous with the AVIC while you drives, all other smarter Navs dont take that long and let you search while driving, My passenger can do that for me also.

Yeah, but none make a reference to creating a new route without the DVD being in.

Oh well. As soon as I finish my car computer, I'll just leave the navi-dvd in all the time.
