In-dash DVD player
Ok, so I've been looking around online for which ones would fit my car (99 323is). Unfortunately, no site has any information on my car. They do, however, have information on the 99 328is. Does anyone know if whatever fits the 328 will also fit mine?
edit: Sorry, I just noticed the Car Audio and Electronics section. :doh |
you want to be in the e46 forum buddy...
|
nope, it's an e36, the is model wasn't changed in 99, only the i.
|
ah... learn something new everyday! I knew the M was still an e36 that year, but not the coupes... thanks.
|
No problem :p
Hey, where in PA are you? I'm in Ohio at college right now but I live outside Reading. |
no shit.. . I live in souderton. Work in King of Prussia.
|
Souderton's over by 309, right? Probably an hour or so. Sweet.
Haha, I've hijacked my own thread. :redspotda |
I have an Pioneer AVIC-N2 head unit, which plays DVDs.... but it's a bit expensive. :) http://www.unitedbimmer.com/forums/thread1805.html
When you say you want something "in dash", do you mean like a headunit or something else? |
While the one you have is ridiculously nice, I was looking at these:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-X9rO9cD...50&I=110VM9410 http://www.crutchfield.com/S-X9rO9cD...0&I=130AVHP570 I don't really want the GPS, but I mean I understand you have to have it, what with you being male :p just kidding! I know I'll get reamed for that, haha |
You know, honestly it might not hurt to look around on eBay for a dvd playing headunit... it either works or it doesn't.... :dunno Might be able to save some major money.
|
Yeah, that's a good idea, it's just whether or not it'll fit that I want to figure out.
|
As long as it's standard size, it'll fit. :) Non-standard size headunits are rare and will clearly say "oversized". If you're questioning it at all, find the same model of the headunit you're looking at on some major company's website, like crutchfield, and then call them and ask in person if it fits. :) ... or just post a link here and we'll double-check for you.
|
Ok, great, that's pretty much what I thought. A lot of online stores not dedicated to bimmers don't have very much information on my model. Thanks a lot!
|
99 is the split year ;)
|
You could save $$$ by getting an in dash tv that doesnt play dvds and adding a ps2, xbox, or dvd player to it
I have this in my 98 328i http://files.unitedbimmer.com/ub.c/Kamakazi/TV.jpg I got it off of ebay for like $500, then to add something that plays dvds shouldnt be that much if you already have one. |
