My new Hu

Ok, Time for a new Head Unit .

I am leaning towards 3 head units so far, mainly two....

1. Pioneer DEH-P960MP

2. Pioneer DEH-P860MP

3. Pioneer DEH-P770MP

Ok here is what I like about each;

Number 1, I think it looks great and I love the fact that it leans down and all. You can choose and download different animations and backgrounds... NEGATIVE = Silver look, Not Black....

Number 2, Same as number one. Same thing as number 1 as far as backgrounds NEGATIVE = doesn't lean down like number 1, therfor less buttons = More options per button

Number 3, Looks good, more user friendly than other two. NEGATIVE = Silver again + Not color but cool blue. And also, you have a limited amount of backgrounds and stuff.

I am going to choose between these 3 head units, please don't throw me a curve and tell me what about this other brand... I've limited my choice between these 3

More info on each HU here Pioneer Premier

Keep in mind that those aren't the regular Pioneer Head Units, they are the high quality and more powerful Premier ones!

Also, keep in mind that I will not be paying regular M.S.R.P price on these, by now you guys should know that I never pay full price for anything!

And please, don't just vote, comment, and let me know why you like the one you chose best....

I like #3 the best. It looks the best, has a nice display, and seems user firendly.

All those will stick out like a sore thumb on the refined orange glow of the BMW dash...
I would say none...but my best advice the the one with CD/MP3/XM and aux input for Ipods and such...

in other words get the most features...for your buxs

I like the first one best, and while I know you said not to suggest others... the AVIC-N2 is worth every penny.

And then, I ask you, HOW might you be able to watch DVDs in your car without an N2? Hum?

And can you change the track on your cd by simply saying to your car "Track 4"?

What about saying to your car "source radio" to change to that? Hum? I think not. hehe

After using the N2 for a while, I consider all others far inferior. I love that thing.

-- And plus you get major cool points when you have a hot chick riding with you, and you turn on your car and the screen folds out automatically and it goes "*beep* Please request command." Then you say "cancel", and it repeats what you said and then starts playing music. She's like "whoa.... dude, your car just talked to you.... whoa.... lets hook up."

*cough* $2.2k *cough*

I could actually get one for ~$1.8k. Trust me, I consider the Avic-N2 the best Head unit out there. And I would love to have one. But it's not quite what I need, plus I never watch DVD's in my car...

Hum, me either, but it's still cool to be able to. haha

And I paid about $2k for it... that was a while ago too, prices have probably dropped a bit since then... cause when I bought it, it was BRAND new.

Honestly, the first one looks.... WOW... something you put into a dodge neon... wtf is that shit... it makes it look too extreme..

I think BMW should have a classy non-shitty look to it. I like the black the most for look-wise, it will blend in a lot better to your car. Even my silver Alpine is a little off, because it is silver(my opinion). I just think a nice black HU will do best for blending. Contrast of mulitple colors can be an eye sore.

"animations and backgrounds"

TRUST ME, animations get OLD! Sure, whenever friends get into your car and see whatever stupid animation, they will say "oh that is neat" but that is all you will get out of that.

All of these extra features to me are worthless and you are paying for something you will get over.
My thoughts about head units are to get something that is high quality and easy to use. Many features will just confuse you on how to use it.
Just make sure you can adjust your sound levels (EQ and such).

2nd one. They're all too busy for me, but that one is a bit more subdued looking.
