e36 sound

in my 328is i have hk and i have 2 blown speakers, one mid range on the door and one rear speaker. my question is if i can go by aftermarket speakers (all the way around) that are better than my hk without replacing the HU. i really want the keep the interior stock looking and am sick of the blown speakers and don't want to pay the stealership a fortune to replace speakers that aren't all that great

i have my infinities... i love them...not sure amp wise... my tweets and kick panels are running of the head unit i have(alpine)... i bet they will work off your amp..not to their full potential..but i am sure they will be fine... talk to el presidente if you can get ahold of him.. or bimmerphan...these guys helped me out a lot and they have good knowledge about this stuff.

infinites seem to be something that a lot of bmw owners like. But, let me ask you this.. how do you like your sound system to sound? Do you like it crisp and clean, or like I do, good treble but heavier base?

im not looking for anything spectacular..... all i want is to replace the blown speakers, but if i can buy better than oem for cheaper, then ill do that all the way around. I want good crisp and clean sound with as much bass that i can get without a sub, i just want a balanced sound not more bass than treble or more treble than bass

Then go for 6*9's in the rear, here, read my thread on 328i.org on the rear speakers replacement

http://www.328i.org/viewtopic.php?t=120

I went from th stock rear speakers to pioneer 350watts 6*9 and I love them, I have had those for a while, so when my rear speakers busted, I just put those in so I wouldn't need to buy new ones
