Srrius reception cutting out

I have a 740i sport which to which I had a Sirrius radio added. The guy who did it hooked up the antenna to the existing am/fm rear window grid. During the summer (leaves!) and in certain areas (topogrophy), my reception drops out. Is there a way to economically boost the signal? I like the lack of roof-top antenna bubbles, but the cutting out drives me crazy! Any ideas?
