Exclamation stereo short?

hey guys i was replaceing a previously installed cd player with a newer model things went ok exept for when i put it in the cds werent playing but the radfio was so i took it all apart again to check my wiring and it all seemsed fine so i started it up and the tac wasn't working so i went and checked fuses a 7,5 was blown replaced it and it was workin again,so i took my cd player out again to try and figure out the problum and now my car wont turn over ,theres no click for starter and the fan and lights all come on.
the check lights for lisence plate light and brake lights are on but i checked the fuses for those and they are fine im stumped as to what it could be i don't know anything about the electronics in this car any thaughts? thanx

I would recommend you to relook what you rewired and how. It would also help if you have some schematics showing what wires are what. Also check and see if your car has some kind of immobilizer.

I had this problem in an Infiniti once; Check your starter fuse. If everything is lighting up but car is not cranking its definately the starter.

If your CD player was working fine until you put in a CD, then your stereo is grounding out. Therefore you need to hook up your ground wire plus the power antennae wire. Let me guess, its a kenwood stereo right?

no it was a sony but it was the starter fuse but when i replaced it the clutch in the starter started slipping so now i gota replace it but i should be good after that thanx for your help boys
