Help Installing Aftermarket Alarm/Remote Start and Accessories on e46
Looking to see if anyone has done an aftermarket alarm/remote start on an 2001 325ci (or similar). I am installing:
-viper 5900 -DEI 508t (motion sensor) -DEI 530t (window roll up/down) -DEI 555b (immobilizer bypass) I've got various wiring diagrams for the alarm itself but no info on the windows. I was hoping someone had done this in one of their e46's and could provide some info. Thanks |
Does anyone do any real work on their cars? Washing your car and changing the oil is not a MOD. I must be in the wrong forum.

Anyone who is familiar with the systems you mentioned will reply

I decided to install the alarm/remote start over the weekend and did it with great success. I intsalled the viper 5900 with a motion sensor, glass break sensor, and trunk popper. If anyone is interested, I can go ahead and post some pics of the install. Its a great DIY for all you DIYers. Anyway let me know and I will post pics.

Rooz,
Per your last question, I did not get a chance to install the 530t yet (Installing 2, one for front windows other for rears). I was missing two wiring harnesses which I need because its for the 4,5,6 channel for the alarm. I have to go back to the shop and get the the seller to give me those wires. Lesson learned: always double check your box for contents when box is marked display. As for installing the 530t's, its quite simple. The trouble is running the wires to the doors. I am going to double check on this because I might not need to run them to the doors. This project is going to be a longone because I work full time and go to school, so please bare with me. I will post the pics of the "alarm and components" up tomorrow. |
