CD stuck in 6-disc changer
When I select "CD" band on the radio it reads error. The original owner that sold me the car advised me that he got a CD stuck in it a long time ago.
Any suggestions of removing it without damaging the system? I'm no audiophile so upgrading or getting aftermarket items don't interest me. I really don't listen to the radio often, in fact, I like hearing the sound of the car engine and exhaust. But, an occasional CD would be nice.

Im guessing you have to take the Radio apart to get it out, might be a job for a dealer or an electronics person, but you might want to try and remove the radio and see if you can figure it out.

Same CD Changer Problem
Hi,
Did you resolve your CD changer problem? I have the same situation. I pulled the changer out and can see that there is a CD stuck half way in. Do you know how to take the CD changer apart? I've taken some screws out, but I'm worried about removing the laser unit on the back. Any suggestions?
Thank you for your attention. I greatly appreciate it. Enjoy your weekend!

Problem Solved
Hi all,
After trying to disassemble the changer and even attempting to pry the CD tray back into the holder I found that simply disconnecting the unit from the car and reconnecting it will make the trays cycle through and fix the problem. It fixed itself!

Hi Rick. I was actually able to get the CD out by using a credit card in the slot but I still get the "Error" reading. I was going to ship it out to a BMW radio specialist for a 100 bucks until I saw your post. Is the disconnection process simple? I can't seem to find the correct wires or I'm afraid of screwing something up.

I had a simalar problem but its was two CDs in one slot, my stepdad and I took it apart and found the latch that holds the magazine and depressed it and got the mag to eject. We had to take off the case and then the plastic piece on the front to find the latch thing. Good luck.
